Shutters as a Craft Show Display? Yes!

I did a craft show a couple of weeks ago that proved to be less than spectacular. Let's be real-- it was a dud, a waste of my effort and time.

There were many talented and friendly vendors at this event.  Meeting them was truly the highlight of this lousy day.
A beautiful warm Saturday, paired with a tucked away location (among other factors) made for a terribly slow, unattended show.

My display, however, looked fantastic--at least my Facebook buds got to see it.
This part of the display was new...

I have another one that displays my earring pails and ring holders...

The clips (that the tags were hanging from) were at one of my local craft stores, and they have come in very handy for displays.

My table, complete with the shutters. (Please pardon my not-so-sharp phone photo.)

This last show drained my positive energy, which does not mean that I am giving up.  It does mean that that I will be more particular about the shows I participate in.

So let's hear it for keeping things fresh in the display department, having faith in ourselves, and NEVER giving up on our goals...

Stay tuned.

  1. I absolutely love your shutter displays and your merchandise too, Christine! In the crazy last few weeks of school I haven't had any time to visit my favorite blogs and bloggers so this week I took my show on the road (so to speak) and took a break from "A Little Birdie Told Me..." to catch up with those I enjoy most. Hope you're having a terrific summer. I look forward to catching up and reading a lot more of your blog now that things have settled down.

  2. I love the shutter idea! You are so creative, Aunt Christine! Stay positive!! ( I have to tell myself the same thing about my Mary Kay business!)

  3. Brilliant! Your table and banner look wonderful. I hope you are having as much fun with all these craft shows it looks like you are.

  4. This is so cute!!! Makes me wish I had something to sell!!

  5. Nice display, and cute stuff! I wouldn't have thought of using clips on the shutter like that! I probably would have used the shutter upside down, and hung the items with s-hooks. Hope you had a successful show. : )

  6. Love seeing crafters use shutters for display at shows. It helps bring your eye up and keeps your merchandise in focus.
Great job! Keep checking out local shows. You may have to scout them out 1st before signing up. Plus, ask vendors if they have used that promoter before. The seasoned vendors have all the scoop!

  7. I love this so much! I'm getting married and plan on using shutters to hold key cards that I'm using as the guestbook. I was going to use ornament hooks to hold them, but these clips look perfect! Any chance you would be willing to share where you got them?

  8. Would you please email me with the name of the craft store you purchased the clips?

I won't deny it, I love comments! Thanks...
