Denim Wrapped Wreath with a Message

I don't know why I torment myself.  I'm new when it comes to making wreaths, and I drive myself to drink insane whenever I attempt one.  To make matters worse, I'm the Valentine's Day equivalent to a Grinch, so red hearts and cupids don't really do it for me.

I am, howeverperfectly content with anything chocolate, and grocery store flowers...just saying.

I gave it away before when I said no red hearts and cupids.  This wreath is soooo me. Even the sentiment works.
Oh, and I also have a knack for picking the darkest fabrics ever to work with, don't I? Sheesh.

This is so not me.  I inherited it from a good friend who was de-stashing (technical term) her craft supplies.  It had to be covered.  Ultimately, I decided on some dark denim fabric from my stash.

It's a start. I had to pull all of those white threads, which gave it a cool frayed appearance.

The letters are chipboard that I painted white.  I used a blue grid washi tape on them as well.  After gluing them, I added a denim bow, and lace to hang it on my door.

Not to shabby for such a meanie. Love ya!

  1. I love it. I think it's time we show Valentine's Day that there are other colors that we can use to celebrate. Now, since it's THE chocolate holiday of the year, I have to celebrate it ya know?! Great job!
