Santa Wreath with Fabric Ribbon, Felt and The Graphics Fairy

One week left till the big guy is supposed to show.   As per usual, I am nowhere near ready. Oddly enough, I am strangely calm and collected about that fact.  Somehow it all gets done, so I'm trying not to get too stressed about such a lovely holiday.

While we have been busy baking cookies for next weekend, I determined that a new Christmas wreath was needed for our front door.

It's, but tis the season!  I took a plain wreath form and simply wrapped it with this heavily starched red and white ribbon.

I knew that I wanted a vintage Santa Claus somewhere on my wreath, and The Graphics Fairy has some wonderful ones on her site (thanks Karen!).  This one is phenomenal! I printed him onto tissue paper, and Mod Podged him to a large acrylic square.  When he was dry, I painted around him with Martha Stewart paint in Habanero and Garnet (glitter).

I decided when it was dry, that it needed a little more glitter.  I ran a thin line of glue around Santa and sprinkled glitter on top.  Much much better!

My scrunchy little flowers are made from a glittered felt that I had in my stash. Trust me when I say there is nothing scientific about them.
I cut lopsided circles in different sizes, stacked them, and sewed them together.  As I sewed, I gathered the edges to make them look more ruffled.  When they were sewed onto the wreath, I added some white and clear beads to the centers with a fast drying tacky glue.

I'm digging the pop of red on my black door.  What do you think?
