Holiday Bunting Project with Martha Stewart Paints and Stencils

Ah, the life of a creative blogger! One moment, I am making a pumpkin project (in August). And three days away from Thanksgiving, I am posting about a new Christmas decoration. I love it!

For this project, I used black card stock--which I cut into gigantic gift tags on my Silhouette.

I chose my words, "be merry" from my collection of chip board letters.

I used two snowflake stencils from the Martha Stewart Holiday Icons Stencils, and a few of her paints. They were, in no particular order-- Mother of Pearl, Wedding Cake, and Sterling Glitter paint.

Using a sponge, I pounced the paint on the stencil. I repeated this on all of the tags.

While they were hanging out, I painted my chip board letters.  I used Martha's Gesso first. I like how it covers the chip board surface and makes it ready for paint.

Because the letters were all different fonts, I thought I should keep my phrase cohesive with one great color.  The color I chose was Habanero. When this was dry, I added some bling with Garnet glitter paint.

I used dimensional foam squares to attach them to the gift tags. Using some clothespins that I stained black, I hung them onto a white string.

What do you think of my color combination? I hope that you like it...

I received product and payment for this post - all opinions are my own.
