Perpetual Calendar Blocks: The Halloween Edition

I think it's only fair that I blame my lack of posts on the first week of school.  Who's with me?

I have been working on projects like crazy, and I am looking forward to sharing them with you.  First, I have a Halloween version of one of my favorite things to make...the perpetual calendar / countdown block set.

I love this Halloween paper with these cutie pies all dressed up.  I sanded two inch wood blocks and painted them with two coats of this wonderful orange paint.

Cutting these dudes out was a little time consuming, but absolutely worth it. My family was laughing at me as I kept track (out loud) of my witches, Frankensteins, and vampires.  I guess hearing somebody say, "I need one more cowboy," sounds funny out of context.

I cut out black vinyl on my Silhouette (Rocco!) and put the numbers in the middle of each side.  I used Mod Podge to decoupage the kiddos onto the blocks. I gave my blocks two more coats of Mod Podge to seal and protect them.

How cute would these be on a teacher's desk for October? The class could help count down till candy time!

  1. I'm so excited, I'm making one of these soon! I love it! Please follow me back at
