New Home Subway Art

Hi.  I'm Christine. And I am addicted to making subway art.

The first step is admitting there is a problem, I guess.  The thing is, I wonder... is it really a "problem?"
Denial much?

Really good friends of ours just moved into their first house, and I was "moved" to make them something for their home.

I edited out their last name for privacy with Picasa.

I spray painted this metal sign with Krylon Dual in black.  When it was dry, I picked out words and made them out of white vinyl with my Silhouette.  The antique key is actually a favorite image from  The Graphics Fairy.

All I did was download it to the Silhouette Studio, and then set it up to trace and cut the outline of the image.  I really love that I could add that, and the cute little heart.

I have got to show you what this started out as...

Hee hee....not so much, huh?  Not that I have anything against fishing!  Just this sign (just joking).

My friend found this at Christmas Tree Shops one day when we were shopping.  It was in a clearance bin for $ 1.47!  It's a nice heavy duty metal sheet--all ready to hang on a wall.

It was a perfect beginning for this project.  I'm so happy that I could turn it into something fantastic for our wonderful friends!

  7. Christine, what a great transformation and a beautifully made gift. I've been wanting to try my hand at a subway art project, but fear that I too might become addicted. For now, I'll have to live vicariously through your fabulous creations.
