Ever see a project idea and decide you have to do it immediately? It just happened to me when I saw this wooden recipe holder from Mod Podger David here on Mod Podge Rocks.
This is my variation...
You know me, black is my favorite color. I scrounged through my scrap wood box (yes, I have one), and came up with these three...
I was in such a hurry that I spray painted these before I took a before picture.
The phrases were cut from a Melody Ross border that I had in my stash. I Mod Podged them onto the blocks. Distressing the blocks was a last minute decision, but it worked out for the best.
To attach the metal clip to the top wood block, I used E-6000. Because the block was a triangle, I needed to wedge it into this plastic cup to stabilize it. I left it in there with the clip on top for a few hours until the glue set.
I decided to use Gorilla Glue to put this together. It worked great--remember use it sparingly because it expands!
I thought I'd show you it in action. This note about sums it up for my house! How about you?
