A different take on a bridal shower card

Have I got a near miss story for you!  I told you how one of my many wonderful nieces is getting married in a few days (Yay!!).  I helped her out with a couple of projects which you can find here  and here.

Since we had picked out some kitchen items from their registry, that is where the inspiration for her card came from.

This is how I wrapped brought the gift.  The cellophane that you see is a set of school themed perpetual blocks.  The bride mentioned that she liked them and I remembered!

How stinking cute is that paper?  I love it and I only had one sheet of it.  This was cut by Rocco (my silhouette).

Here's the thing...I goofed it up.  I should have adjusted my paper differently.  I watched in agony as I saw the design cut right off of the paper.  Oh. No.

I messed around with it on the card, and decided that I liked the straight edge going to the end of the card. It makes it interesting to look at (in my opinion).  I added a lovely strip of washi tape to balance it out.

Where's the back?  Here...

Also cut by Rocco, this paper was self adhesive card stock that I had on hand.

I love a good "happy accident"  once in a while.  It made me happy to come up with a card that wasn't so "bridal shower-ish" too.

  1. What a great card, Christine! Looks like the design is intentional:) Love the basket of goodies, too!

  2. Never would have known that it wasn't intentional to have one side line up with the edge of the card. I like to call that "unintentional creativity". Looks great and gasp, I don't have that paper!
