Spice jars plus chalk markers equal

A particular kind of genius.  Okay, so maybe I've gone a wee bit over the top, but this makes me happy and I had to share. Okay? Okay.

Have you ever seen these before?  They are plastic spice containers from Tupperware.  They come in two sizes.  This is a picture of the small ones.  I like them, mostly because they stack as shown.  They have both a shaker top and a wide opening for measuring spoons.

They come apart pretty easily for washing too.  This is why I wasn't crazy about them...

I made these labels on my computer and made them into stickers.  As you can see, they get cruddy pretty quickly.  Now what do I do?

Enter Chalk Ink markers.  Why I didn't think of this sooner, I have no idea! I think it's because these containers are plastic... Anyway, they worked like a charm...

Nice!  No please...hold your applause, I insist.  Now they can be washed even easier, I don't mind re-writing the names at all.

 I'm just waiting for my husband to notice what a genius I am! {wink}

I'm so clever, I'm going over here now...

  1. I need to find some of these chalk markers. I love it when all my labels are new and perfect and hate it when they start to look tattered. Great idea!

  2. What a great use for the chalk ink markers. I have used them a bunch on actual chalkboards, but it's great to know that they work on other surfaces also! Thanks for sharing!
