I've seen the light

Have you seen the idea about Mod Podging tissue paper to candles?  I did, and I thought I'd give it a shot.

I think I love it!  It's not really a difficult project either. You just need some patience...and Mod Podge.

First, I trimmed the tissue paper to fit the candle.  I started the paper about a half inch from the top, so that the recipient could burn the candle if she chose to.

I  painted Mod Podge on the candle and carefully smoothed the paper down.  My paper did tear a little, but I sealed it together with the Mod Podge, and you can't even tell.

I left the bottom a little long, and wrapped it neatly underneath.  That part was sealed with Mod Podge as well.

After letting it dry, I added raffia for the final touch.

That tissue paper is one of my favorites.  It makes me happy how the paper blends with the candle.  I can picture it in a home office or study.  What do you think?

  1. Love! What a great idea, and such a pretty gift, too! That paper is awesome, do you think the candle would burn ok with it on, or should it be just for looks?
