The colors of fall are my favorites...besides black. They are so warm and cozy. It wouldn't be the beginning of the week without a little something from The Graphics Fairy. Last week, when I was printing out Fred, I found a great pumpkin seed packet image. I used it in this project.
I started with a chipboard disc, and painted it with a color I mixed (country tan with a bit of orange). While it was drying, I took a piece of brown craft paper and cut it into a circle. On impulse, I crumpled it up to give it some texture. I used Mod Podge to glue down the image onto the crumpled paper (after I inked the edges with timber brown ink).
The textured-by-me paper was glued down to the disc, and out came the seed beads and Diamond Glaze. I wanted to give some of the areas of the pumpkin some pretty texture. The glaze dries pretty quickly, I find it excellent when working with seed beads in this way.
While the beads were drying, I used Stickles (antique linen) around the outside of the craft paper. I used two different leaf punches to get some more dimension on the plaque. I used some green colored wire to coil up and then hang it.
Here is a closer look. I'm really happy with the combination of the plain craft paper with the sparkle of the Stickles and seed beads. Another new addition to my fall decor...done!
It's Monday, so I must be here...
