My interpretation of...

I thought I'd tweak a project I've seen all over the crafty blogs.  Honestly, I'm not quite sure how I feel about it.  Let's take a look, shall we?

No one throws a glass jar into the recycling bin without asking Mommo first. I trained my people beautifully!

I took some country tan acrylic paint, and painted a few lines inside the jar, bottom to top.  Then I poured orange paint into the jar and shook and rolled it until the entire inside was covered.

This is one of my favorite projects to do.  Take a piece of scrapbook paper (thinner is better, I find), and trace the lid.  Then draw a circle a little less than an inch out and cut it out. Then cut from the outer line to the inner line. It will resemble fringe. Less is more with the cuts. Then Mod Podge the paper and press down the center of the lid.

Then put Mod Podge on each little flap and press up around the edges.

I took some copper colored wire and twisted it around the top of the jar and added green beads.  The  inspiration for this flash of creativity (if you want to call it that) is right behind it.  At the very least, it didn't go in the recycling bin!

  1. Very cool and thanks for the tip on how to cover the lid. It would be fun to do a few of these and paint or use vinyl to spell something out...BOO or FALL or some other short word that doesn't require a bazillion jars lol.
