It was meant to be

Happy Labor Day, my friends!

I have a quick project that I want to share with you.  As usual, I wanted to use an image from The Graphics Fairy because it's Brag Monday.  I had an idea in mind that required a label of hers.  I wanted to incorporate it into a pendant.

The image I used was faded to begin with, but I thought it would work out.  After coating the image with Mod Podge and DG3 Art Gel, I left it alone until this morning (yes, it's true-I know).  As I was drinking my second cup of coffee, I looked and realized that the image had disappeared! Poof-just gone! It must have been some strange chemical reaction...

Now what do I do?  I looked over some other images that I had of hers, and chose another label with a little more color, printed it and cut it out. I knew I needed to try another approach to sealing the image.

I pressed the copy into a clear emboss it ink pad, coated it with clear embossing powder and hit it with my heat tool.  I used the art gel to adhere it to the pendant. Here she is!

You've got to love a happy accident!

  4. Yup, you ended up with some tasty lemonade there Christine. It was probably a chemical reaction between the Mod Podge and the Art Gel.

  12. Add me to the followers. I was referred from one of my digital sbing CT email groups. Great idea using the embossing powder. Another thing I've seen recommended is to coat the image lightly with Aileene's tacky glue and let it dry before using a glaze. This is to prevent the colors from running. Love your blog, it's so full of information.
