C is for Complete...

Okay my friends...letter number two is finished.  We're moving right along with decor for these rooms.  My kids are so lucky...don't you think?

This is the before...

It's cute but...my girl is growing up and needs something more sophisticated.  It got new paint, left-over from the walls.  Then of course, it needed something else...

I mentioned before how much I love the Internet, right?   I have found some amazingly creative, ingenious, and incredibly talented people who boggle my mind, and overwhelm me with possibilities. Thank you!

I found this idea from Beverly over at Flamingo Toes (love that name).  Her daughter is an avid reader, and I thought, "I have one of those!"

I found an old book, and tore out pages, then used my two inch circle punch to make two circles for each flower.  I carefully burned the edges and scrunched (technical term) them. Using glue dots I fastened them to the letter.

I also used glue dots to stick the tiny buttons to the centers.

Very appropriate!  The blue is her accent wall, and the rest of her walls are close to that creamy color.  I used a few purple buttons in the flower center, to tie in the touches of purple left in the room.  Thanks again Beverly...it was the inspiration I needed!

I have a couple of other projects that are complete for my "dolly's" room...I want to hang them up before I take photos.  Till then...

Join me for a "link," won't you?

  8. Oh my, what a lucky daughter you have! I love how you transformed that letter into a completely fresh and elegant piece of home decor. And I simply adore how you burned the edges of those flowers. I'm off to get a lighter and see what I can burn now. :)
