Noteworthy notebook

I have become a recent fan of the dollar store.  These little composition notebooks are one of my favorite things there.

I think the price for three of these is less than two dollars.  It is one of my favorite things to make for a quick thank you, secret Santa, or just-because-you're-so-terrific gift.  The one I made today was inspired by an image found on The Graphics Fairy.  It is an ornate gate, which I've had my eye on since Miss Karen posted it.

My stash of Melody Ross papers and borders came in handy for this project.  The cute paper clip is also from that collection.  I have been quietly obsessed with antique keys for a bit, so I was happy to break them out for this.  I love that you can see the flip side of the paper when the book is open as well.

I detailed it with Distressed Stickles in brushed pewter.  My addiction to Stickles is worthy of another post entirely!  I have to go now...my daughter is trying to leave the room with the notebook.

  1. Oh, this is darling!!!! I hope you'll come visit my blog because this week I made a journal cover too! I made it from the exact same book that you did...small world, eh?
I have a new blog called Whimsical Musings...that's the one it's on.
But, I also have a blog called I Owe it All to Him...It is simply a place of inspiration...But, I have just decided to feature guest artists and I write an inspirational story that corresponds to their work...
Anyway, if you have a piece that is inspirational, I'd love to feature you as a guest artist and post a link to your beautiful blog. Just let me know if you'd like to do that...I'd be happy to include you.

  5. I too love your creation! It would make an excellent gift, handmade and from the heart. I stumbled into Rite Aide last fall and they had a special on those books: "Buy One, get Five Free!". I fell for that one hook, line, and sinker, and walked out of the store with a big bag full of composition books! Now I'm thinking I should send them to you! lol
