Perpetual Calendar Fabulous-ness

I have always been fascinated by calendar-as-decor, such as advent and perpetual calendars.  I saw this tutorial on Whatever Dee Dee Wants, and it was so cute I made my own.

I found my blocks at Michael's (2 inch) and sanded them smooth.

I painted them with acrylic paint.  Have I mentioned that black is my favorite color?

I used my square punch to cut coordinating papers and Mod Podged my heart out! I also used my Cuttlebug to cut out the pretty numbers, and used MP to glue them on. Hard Coat MP was my choice for this project as I figured these would be dropped a number of times in my crazy house! I loved the results so much that I am currently working on a set with a school theme.  Maybe for an "end-of-the-year-thank-you-for-all-you-do" gift?  Hmmm...I'll take pictures!
